What We Do

si-picSoroptimist International of Norwalk is a women’s organization whose members volunteer to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.  Soroptimist International of Norwalk’s Dream Programs ensure women and girls have access to the education and training they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams. Soroptimist International of Norwalk is committed to investing in programs that have a sustainable, measurable change for women and girls.

Live Your Dream: Education and Training Scholarship Awards for women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families with the financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training.

Dream it, Be it: Career Support for Girls will help girls grow up to be strong, successful, happy adults. Dream It, Be It targets girls in secondary school who face obstacles to their future success.

Other Programs
In addition to the Dream Programs Soroptimist International of Norwalk conducts various local-level projects to assist women and girls in our community.  We also partner with the following organizations to provide services to women and girls within our local community:

  • Norwalk Teen Alliance (TAP)
  • Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (LA CADA)
  • Santa Fe Springs Custody to Community Transitional Reentry Program (CCTRP)
  • Soroptimist International of the Americas
  • Soroptimist Village (Low-Income Senior Housing)
